Andrew’s Top 3 Sites to See
by Andrew Negru | Jun 9, 2020 | Travel
I want to take a 6 Month Vacation 2 times a year!
If you want to travel and are looking for recommendations, here are my top 3 choices of places to visit. Before I get to my top 3 choices I must explain why I chose these three. Most of my trips involved me going there solo and without any knowledge of well pretty much anything that was in the city. I guess the “Debater” in me just wanted to do something wild, different and adventurous. These cities I chose had 3 qualities that I think every traveler must abide to.
Cheap! Like who really wants to spend an arm and a leg on travel when we get taxed so much here in the states. Tax on breathing, tax on drinking water, tax on talking about taxes. It is ridiculous, that is why I think it is important that where ever you travel it must be reasonably priced.
Safe! Like there is way too much non-sense going on in the world and with a majority of the world not followers of Christ, sin and danger is well everywhere. With that being said, being safe is important. I surely don’t want to go on a last hurrah kind of vacation to never show up again. I’m not planning on getting robbed(I got robbed…Read the post here) I’m not planning on getting murdered or kidnapped. So I don’t think you should plan on those things either. I know people will say that the world is nice and people are nice, well I got news for you buddy, there are also people who are not nice and who are looking for evil things to do. These cities are pretty safe except for the one that I got robbed in.
Stuff to see! I don’t know if you have ever gone somewhere and well you saw everything there is to see in under and hour (read post here) Well I have and it was probably the most bored I was traveling in a long time. You want to do as much as you can and hopefully leave that place with a feeling of Aw man, there is so much more I need to see. I can’t wait to come back kind of attitude. That is how you know it is a great city to go to!.
So without further adieu here is my list for top 3 places to visit……….
Florence, Italy
Florence, Italy
Florence is such a beautiful city. There is SO much to do and see, yet it is not a large city where you will not know where to turn and where to go. Most of the city is within walking distance, and you could easily spend 3 days and still not see every little thing in this beautiful city. I’d recommend to go during off season, it is MUCH cooler and the crowds die down. I was there 3 times in total and the first 2 times I loved it. Very few people, almost like a little oasis in Italy, but this last time in 2019; Boy oh boy, it was CrOwDeD!!! AND it was Hot, like the sweat on your arms, head, legs everywhere kind of hot. At one point I was drinking 3 to 4 liters of water a day, I was also walking 16-18 miles a day granted. All in All, this city is my favorite for a many reasons and hopefully I’ll tell you one day my favorite reason of all!.
Budapest, Hungary
Well, Well, Well…. Looks like the Hungarians have one upped the Romanians and got themselves a beautiful city here. The ONLY reason I was in Budapest was because 1. It was on the way to Romania where my main destination was, but 2. A friend of mine was inspired by my traveling and he did a stint in Budapest and well he just couldn’t get enough. I have been a loud speaker for Budapest ever since I visited in 2017. It is AMAZING! I did NOT spend enough time there. I would say easily 3 days of full sightseeing, eating and relaxing. The idea would be to eventually spend an entire weekend in Budapest. I cannot wait to go back! Also, it was here well hopefully it was here that I got my mind on straight and the best story I could ever tell you happened here. I’ll let you know in another Blog post.
Istanbul, Turkey
Ever since I found out that I was good at history, i.e. “I finished my tests without studying and still got straight A’s” I knew I wanted to travel the world and see all the cool historical places it has to offer. What better place than Istanbul. For about a millennia it was the center of the world. You could not come from the west to the east without going through Constantinople, or better know for today as Istanbul. This place is a maze! The bazaar is awesome and I can’t to go back and buy a bunch of cool random stuff you find at the small shops. I will also buy tons and tons of Rahat! HaHa thats the Romanian word for Turkish Delight! It is so Good! I also got robbed here within the first hour of walking the streets. Dumb me and my rookie mistakes. That’s a whole other story in itself. I’ll let you know about it another story.
That is folks. These are my top 3 destinations for anyone who wants to start to travel and see the world. If you have questions, let me know. I’ll answer the best of my ability!
